I love hearing the stories of how couples met. I got to hear Natalie and John’s story over ice cream on Mt. Washington. Natalie and John are fun. They are sweet. They don’t take everything TOO seriously (neither do Jimmy and I, so obviously we got along fabulously).  They are the kind of couple that I can walk around with, talk to, photograph, laugh with, and totally forget that this is my job, because it is just so much fun.  Thank you Natalie and John for being so much fun, we can’t wait for your wedding next year!
We started in Natalie’s neighborhood and then walked around Mt. Washington, and ya…Natalie is gorgeous…

This one is Jimmy’s…

Difiore’s Ice Cream on Shiloh Street has a special place in my heart. I used to go there with my Grandma a LOT. :)

Their first date was at Redbeard’s…

the runge family . real life .

Every family I photograph is different. Different ages. Different dynamics. Different people. Each family teaches me something different about my job, and life in general. This family happens to have moved from Switzerland to Pittsburgh in March. They taught me that love is the same in every language. This type of “lifestyle” session is what makes me tick. The kind of session that is less portrait, and more documentary. This kind of family reminds me of my childhood. Less plastic, more imagination. They have a bounce room for the kids, filled with mattresses and pillows. I literally dreamed of a room like that for years. They were real, and honest in front of the camera and I think it was a little bit magical. I loved it so much that this post is really photo heavy…see for yourself…

taylor + shawn . engaged .

Every once in a while I come across a couple that is genuinely completely natural and fun in front of the camera (Jimmy and I…not one of those couples).  I was contacted a year ago by Taylor and Shawn about photographing their October 2012 wedding. I was basically like “woah…someone likes me enough to book me that early…word?!”. When I met with them, I knew that we were the perfect match.  They were heading off to live in Ireland (I am so jealous).  After photographing their engagement session, I am 100% positive that they are one of the most down to earth, funny, amazing couples that we have ever had the pleasure to work with. I CAN’T WAIT for their wedding next October and I am SO glad that we had time to fit their session in on this trip back to the States.  Taylor and Shawn, enjoy the rest of your visit! You guys rock. Seriously. xo

We snuck into the William Penn again ;D The next two are Jimmy’s…

Just a little sitting in the middle of the Andy Warhol Bridge action. No big deal.

Now for something serious…

And not so serious…these guys are SO much fun. I can only imagine how wonderful their wedding will be. :D :D :D *happy dance*
